📢 Your SkillBuilder® Quarterly News! 📰
Sarah Flesher
Dear SkillBuilder community,
As we close out our 2025-2026 fiscal year, I've been reflecting on how fortunate we are to work alongside organizations that are embracing change in our industry.
This has been a busy and rewarding year for the SkillBuilder team. Over the past several months, we've partnered with associations, regulatory bodies, and employers to update certification programs, modernize course materials, and create learning experiences that better meet the needs of today's learners. We've also had the opportunity to support customers as they navigate changing workforce expectations, evolving technologies, and increasing demands for accessible and inclusive training.
One of the themes I hear about most often from customers is the need for relevance. Learners have less time than ever, and organizations are looking for training that is practical, focused, just-in-time, and directly connected to workplace performance. Whether we're developing instructor-led programs, online learning, or blended solutions, there is a growing emphasis on helping people apply what they've learned, not simply complete a course.
We're also seeing organizations rethink how learning fits into the broader employee experience. Training is not a standalone event. Instead, it is part of a larger strategy to support onboarding, professional development, knowledge transfer, skilling, and workforce retention. Our aim is to encourage organizations to take a more long-term view of learning and invest in training solutions that support continuous growth.
At SkillBuilder, we remain focused on what has always mattered most: creating meaningful learning and training experiences that help people build knowledge, develop skills, and succeed in their roles. Technology will continue to evolve, and AI will increasingly influence how we learn and train. However, effective learning still begins with understanding learners, identifying performance needs, and designing solutions that support real-world application on the job.At SkillBuilder, we remain focused on what has always mattered most: creating meaningful learning and training experiences that help people build knowledge, develop skills, and succeed in their roles. Technology will continue to evolve, and AI will increasingly influence how we learn and train. However, effective learning still begins with understanding learners, identifying performance needs, and designing solutions that support real-world application on the job.
Across our team, we continue to invest in innovation and service excellence. Our learning resource development team is incorporating enhanced storytelling techniques into customer projects, our technology team is focused on creating seamless learner experiences and expanding capabilities such as AI-supported exam proctoring, and our program delivery team continues to provide exceptional support to learners, particularly in the early childhood education sector.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we are excited to continue partnering with organizations that are investing in their people. Thank you for your continued trust in SkillBuilder. I invite you to read more below about what we've been working on, and please reach out if there is any way our team can support your learning and development goals.

SkillBuilder® Technologies – New Features!
We’re always rolling out new functionality – highlighted below. And remember, you can always visit our website to view all our Release Notes.
Front End Look and Feel Changes
Over the last few weeks, you may have noticed that the application is looking a bit different. Our development team is in the process of updating and modernizing the code and front-end material libraries. Rest assured, while the application may look a bit different, the same user-friendly functionality still exists. The updates we’re making will enhance overall accessibility, security and performance, and should be completed towards the end of this summer.
Integrity Advocate – AI Enhanced/Automatic Proctoring
SkillBuilder® now has a built-in integration with Integrity Advocate, a browser-based remote proctoring solution that strengthens exam security and learner verification. Many of our customers are already seeing huge benefits to this integration, including better verification of learners prior to starting an exam, stronger reporting around cheating, and access to clear, audit ready reporting.
Notifications – Customization Enhancements
We have implemented an update to Notifications that allows administrators to customize messaging. Key benefits include greater control over notification design and content, the ability to embed branding elements, and the option to add clickable links, ultimately enhancing the overall communication experience within SkillBuilder®.

Surveys – Likert Scale Enhancement
By popular customer request, Likert scales are now available in surveys. Collect more meaningful and structured feedback by allowing respondents to rate their level of agreement, satisfaction, or confidence. The result? Enhanced insights to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.

If we haven’t already provided a demonstration of these features, please connect with us!

Employee Spotlight
If you've participated in one of our early childhood development programs, chances are you've connected with Sherilynn. As Program Administrator, she keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, supporting participants, coordinating program activities, and helping ensure that every learner has a positive experience from start to finish.
Sherilynn brings more than a decade of experience in early childhood education to the role. Since graduating from Sheridan College in 2012, she has worked with children from infancy through school age and has developed a deep appreciation for the impact educators have on young learners. Her background gives her a unique perspective as she supports the programs we deliver and the professionals who participate in them.
When she's not supporting our learners, Sherilynn is keeping up with her two adventurous boys. Whether it's swimming, travelling, or discovering somewhere new, Sherilynn’s family is always on the go. If she manages to find a little time for herself, you might spot Sherilynn on the track or playing basketball or volleyball.
