Easterseals Customer Success
Easterseals is one of America’s largest non-profit health care organizations, offering hands-on, comprehensive programs and support for individuals with disabilities. Easterseals also runs the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) for mature adults who seek employment, training assistance and civic engagement. Through this transitional employment program, Easterseals partners with community-based non-profit organizations and government agencies (host agencies) to provide program participants with training opportunities to update their skills.
Easterseals initially connected with SkillBuilder for learning resource development support, specifically to convert their PowerPoint presentations for host agencies into online courses.
The Challenge
Easterseals needed to update existing PowerPoint presentations for online delivery. They were looking for their content to be more interactive and engaging, to include updated and relevant graphics, and to standardize the look and feel of their online training offerings. By working with the SkillBuilder Team, Easterseals was hoping to simplify the development process and deliver a more user-friendly end product.
The solution
The SkillBuilder Team engaged with Easterseals to design and develop a series of online courses. Each course was based on existing learning content provided by Easterseals and included:
- Interactivity and engagement
- A professionally recorded audio track
- Engaging and appropriate illustrations and graphics
- Intuitive navigation
- Closed captioning
- Pre-tests
- Practice exercises and activities
All courses were developed to meet web accessibility requirements.
The results
It was important to Easterseals that their courseware be representative of a diverse and mature demographic. Unique, custom illustrations were drawn by our in-house team and included in the various online modules that were developed.
Easterseals successfully delivers their courseware to both host agencies and SCSEP program participants across the United States. They continue to work with the SkillBuilder Team to build their education offering.
